An All-Choice System of Schools
On May 23, Superintendent Adamowski submitted recommendations to the Board of Education that would create a new system of high quality, high performing schools designed to close the urban-suburban achievement gap and provide Hartford students and their families with a wide array of new school choices. The recommendations provide a roadmap to achieving the District’s vision of becoming “a system of high performing, distinctive schools of choice (where) the attainment of Hartford students in reading, math, science and college readiness reflects the high educational outcomes of the State of Connecticut.” The sweeping plan will be implemented in phases beginning in the 2008-2009 school year and will take five to10 years to complete. Throughout the process there will be ample opportunity for feedback and discussion from the school community at large. Click here to review the Superintendent’s presentation.
