Ada M. Miranda, Chairperson, amiranda@crec.org
Ada M. Miranda was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She holds a B.S. in Psychology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico. She moved to New York City in 1974 to pursue a career in dance and a Master of Arts degree in Education, graduating with high honors from Bank Street College of Education in New York.

Elizabeth Brad Noel, First Vice Chair ebradnoel@me.com
Ms. Noel received her B.A. from Oberlin College in History and Education, M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from Cornell University, and 6th Year degree in Administration from the University of Hartford. She retired as the Weaver and Fox guidance chairperson after 25 years. Ms. Noel served as an elected member of Hartford Board of Education from 1993 to 1997. She has been a Blue Hills neighborhood resident, with her husband Don, a retired journalist, since 1966. Their children graduated from Hartford schools.

David MacDonald is the Clerk of the Energy and Technology Committee of the Connecticut General Assembly. David previously served for six years as the Director of Communications and Public Policy for the Connecticut Association for Community Action (CAFCA), the state association of ConnecticutÕs twelve Community Action Agencies, since January 2001. Overseeing the development of all association communications, including newsletters, web sites, anti-poverty policy research and position papers, Mr. MacDonald has also spearheaded the implementation of Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) systems for Community Action Agencies in Connecticut. A nationally certified ROMA trainer, Mr. MacDonald has provided training to more than 450 Community Action staff persons in Connecticut and facilitated the development of the Connecticut Family Agency Community System (FACS) Outcomes Report. ROMA implementation has led to the Connecticut Community Action NetworkÕs new partnership with the CT Department of Social Services on the Human Services Infrastructure initiative, which is creating a more efficient and effective service delivery system that is focused on improving client outcomes. He has also been involved in providing training and support for the Quality Community Action Self-Assessment and Peer Review, a quality improvement system used by Community Action Agencies in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Pamela M. Richmond, Integrated Logistics Support Manager, Pratt & Whitney Engines, UTC, leads the in-house Military Customer Support organization's supportability for the F100-PW-100/220/220E engine programs supporting the United States and International military organizations' F-15 and F-16 worldwide fleets. In her role, she helps define and drive actions that meet program objectives for engine safety, reliability, maintainability, supportability, and cost of ownership.
In her last role, Procurement Transition Manager, she managed transitioning logistics between her operational unit and another UTC international supplier location to achieve increased cost savings. She also has served as General manager of the Engine Overhaul & Repair Center in Middletown, CT as well as Product Line Manager, Commercial Engines (P&W Engine Center) where she was responsible for all commercial production engine builds for Pratt & Whitney manufacturing, worldwide in addition to overhauling commercial engines. She has been with UTC for more than 13 years.
Pamela began her career with UTC as an INROADS intern in 1991, at Hamilton Standard (now Hamilton Sundstrand) in the Systems Engineering Design group. Upon graduating, she progress through the engineering ranks working on the International Space Station and the Extra Vehicular Mobile Unit (aka. Space Suit) programs at Hamilton before moving to Pratt in 1997 as a Cell Leader at the Turbine Airfoils, Product Center in North Haven, CT. Since then, Pamela has worked in the Commercial Engine business as the Star Alliance Program Manager, Finance Manager, Assistant Program Manager - PW6000 Engine Program Office, Senior Marketing Specialist - Power Systems and managed Pratt & Whitney's Office of Retention & Diversity. Pamela has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering form Trinity College and began studies for a master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University. She is also a Pratt & Whitney Leadership Development Program graduate.
Pamela serves on the Board of Education in Connecticut's capitol city, Hartford, CT. She is also a 7 year member of the Board of Directors, Greater Hartford Urban League, and serves on Trinity College's National Alumni Association Executive Committee. She also serves on committees supporting the Hartford Symphony Orchestra's MLK Committee and the Wadsworth Atheneum's Amistad Center. Pamela is a former board member of the Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

Israel Flores was sworn in on June 7 as the newest member of the Hartford Board of Education. He was appointed by Mayor Eddie Perez to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of I. Michael Borrero. His term expires in November, when a full nine-member Board will take office, four elected at large and five appointed by the Mayor. Mr. Flores is a graduate of Hartford Public High School and is a Jacob and Lewis Fox Scholar. He graduated from Yale University in 1996 with a bachelorÕs degree in Economics and Psychology. He received an MBA in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2002. He is currently employed by the UnitedHealth Group in Hartford and resides in Hartford.

Luis Rodríguez-Dávila, lroddavila@gmail.com
Luis Rodriguez-Davila is one of four elected members of the Hartford Board of Education. His four-year term of office began in December 2005.
He is employed by the City of Hartford Economic Development Services Department where he is responsible for small business development.
Born and educated in Puerto Rico, he came to Hartford in the early 1990s as a community organizer for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Previously, he was Minority and Women Business Enterprise Coordinator for the City of Hartford.

Lori Hudson is a long time resident of Hartford and a single parent of two children who attend Hartford Public Schools.
Ms. Hudson works for the Metropolitan District Commission as a Senior Customer Service Representative, where she oversees the commission’s customer call center. She has been active at the District in addressing issues of diversity. She has also served as the chair of the MDC Affirmative Action Advisory Committee working closely with the MDC Commission, CEO, Human Resource Manager, high level management and staff. She worked directly with the MDC Diversity Officer in designing a diversity strategic plan and retreat for MDC management and union representatives. She was additionally instrumental in helping to complete the MDC Retreat Goals which were adopted by MDC Diversity Sub-Committee for the District at large.
Ms. Hudson is an ordained minister and a member of the Phillips Metropolitan C.M.E. church in Hartford where the Rev. James B. Walker is pastor. She serves as the Minister of Music; a position she has held for the past 22 years, and serves on the ministerial staff.

Robert Cotto, Jr., robertcottojr@gmail.com
Robert Cotto is a social studies teacher at the Metropolitan Learning Center for Global and International Studies (MLC). He has worked in both public and private schools in New York City, San Francisco, and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Born and raised in Connecticut, Mr. Cotto earned his B.A. degree in sociology at Dartmouth College and his Ed.M. at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. He is on the Board of Directors for Boys Speak Out, Inc., an organization dedicated to working with adolescents on career and social development.
