Hartford Public High School Law and Government Academy

The Law and Government Academy is designed for students with an interest in pursuing the fields of law, government or community leadership. Students will be challenged with a rich liberal arts and sciences curriculum that fosters a sense of responsibility in the next generation of young men and women to improve their community.

 

The Academy is a community of learners who embrace high academic and social standards. Students will take challenging courses which build on interpersonal, social and communication skills. They will have opportunities to connect with leaders in the fields of law and government.

Academic/School Programs

The Law and Government Academy will offer a core high school curriculum aligned with national and state standards that will meet college admission expectations. Additionally, students will participate in courses to learn about specific social and legal issues that relate to law, government and the community such as Civil and Criminal Law, Legal Research, and Forensics. All students will contribute to community development by participating in a community service project that aligns with their area of interest.


Students will also have summer learning opportunities with the University of Connecticut Law School.
