CommPACT at MD Fox

Child Drawing

With the approval of the local Board of Education, the community of M.D. Fox Elementary School has adopted the CommPACT school model, a grassroots school design process that has legislatively provided funding that enables a partnership with the University of Connecticut NEAG School of Education. The partnership provides research-based instructional practices, professional development for teachers and staff and a leadership coach.

Academic/School Programs

The CommPACT school model is largely based on the successful model used by the city of Boston called Pilot Schools. The school design requires a partnership between school leaders, teachers, parents, students and community leaders to guide and develop the school design. The school will be selecting a new literacy program this year, and further developing a middle school curriculum as the school develops into a PK-8 school.
