María C. Colon Sánchez's school staff is very diverse, approximately half minority, and is a living model for respectful multiculturalism as student and staff languages and cultures are celebrated.

The average number of years experience teaching in Connecticut is ten while nearly 80% of teachers hold a Master’s Degree or above. There are 39 certified teachers, two administrators, a library/media specialist, a social worker and a psychologist, and 20 non-certified instructional assistants working in the building. A medical clinic and full-service dental clinic are housed in the building.

Sánchez School has a computer lab of 20 computers in the media center and each classroom has two computers for student and teacher use. All computers have high speed internet access and teachers make a concerted effort to integrate the use of technology into curriculum. Additionally, computers are used for district-mandated individualized math and reading practice for 45 minutes daily.
