Lewis Fox Middle School is a dynamic diverse learning community that is committed to academic excellence and values the uniqueness of each student. Through rigorous academic programs, students will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to reach their highest potential to become responsible, respectful, caring members of a global society. We will accomplish our mission by establishing high expectations, integrating gifted and talented strategies for all students, and ensuring technological proficiency. In addition, we will immerse students in other cultures and promote home, school, and community partnerships.

Law Sciences Institute
The Law Sciences Institute focuses on careers in law and the investigation of topics dealing with law related sciences

Medical Science Institute
The Medical Science Institute at Lewis Fox Middle School challenges students to achieve at their highest level and encourages them to pursue careers in the medical fields.

The Benjamin E Mays Institute
(An All-Male Program)
Meets the students’ intellectual, spiritual, physical and social needs by emphasizing positive self-esteem through a culturally and academically challenging curriculum.

Special Programs:


I Can Learn Lab – a pilot computerized classroom lab that enables Pre-algebra or algebra students to progress through lessons at their own pace. The teacher serves as an instructional resource for both enrichment and extra assistance.

Classroom, Inc. – provides training on the use of Computer simulations whereby students are doctor assistants in a Community Clinic, run a Sports Network Television Station, a Paper Company, Finance Center, a Bank, etc. Cooperative learning is the basis for grouping and all students can be included.

Compass Learning – a language arts and math skills computer practice program available in the computer labs for use by students.

Stump the Violence – a student, staff and community initiative that includes student leadership training and sponsors events such as Teen Summits, and Safe Night activities.

Boys and Girls Town Social Skills Program – a character education and behavior modification modeling program that uses “the Well-Managed Classroom strategies.
