19 Hartford Parents Attend Retreat on Innate Resiliency and Increasing Family Engagement in Student Learning

A group of 19 Hartford Public Schools parent leaders participated in an overnight retreat on May 9-10, 2014 at the  Wisdom House Retreat Center in Litchfield, CT. The retreat centered around the topic of Innate Resiliency and how to increase family engagement in student learning. The training was conducted by the Center for Sustainable Change. Parent leaders were very pleased with the retreat and feel that it will help them in their personal life, their ability to help their children, and work in helping their children’s school increase family engagement in student learning.

Mr. Eduardo V. Genao, Chief of Early Literacy and Parent Engagement, and Ms. Karla Cruz, Manager of Family and Community Engagement attended the retreat with the parent leaders.
