2018 Smarter Balance Test Results Reveal Progress in Mathematics and English Language Arts
Hartford Superintendent Leslie Torres-Rodriguez said the results of the 2018 Smarter Balanced testing show “across the board gains in math with improvements at all grade levels”as well as “significant progress” in English with gains in all but one grade level. We saw across the board gains in Math with improvements at all grade levels. ELA also made significant progress with improvements in all but one grade level. Last year, at the onset of my tenure as Superintendent, we initiated a challenging district redesign process. However, our intentional focus remained on high quality teaching and learning. These improved results are thanks to the hard work of our students, teachers, and administrators…as well as our families and partners. We are proud of all our students have accomplished and we look forward to continuous improvement in the years ahead.”
