AFM Teachers Deliver Books to Students

Seventh and eighth graders at Annie Fisher Montessori Magnet School were each gifted two new books on Wednesday, May 20th. The middle school teaching team delivered the books around the Greater Hartford region.

The books were purchased through a DonorsChoose Distance Learning project created by ELA teacher, Alexia Zuliani.

“It was important to me that these students who really love to read and who cherished their independent reading time at school could have new books to dive into,” said Zuliani.

By Wednesday evening, the teachers were receiving texts from parents and students expressing their gratitude for the books. One parent wrote, “I just want to take time out of my busy schedule to say a big thank you for teaching my son and for showing up at our home. He was so excited that he brought me downstairs to show me [the books].”
