The Orchestra Moves

Link Up is a national program from Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute that partners with dozens of orchestras across the country and local schools for a yearlong music education program that culminates in a live show. Students and teachers in grades third through fifth are able to participate. The concert takes place April 25, 2017 at the Bushnell, gathering students and teacher from across the district. There, students are able to play their recorders and sing with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute provides each student with a workbook and all participating teachers with a curriculum. It is estimated that over two thousand elementary students attend each year.
