As a Teach-for-America School To Learn From, Breakthrough Magnet South Hosts Over 35 Educators
Teach For America visitors with principal, Julie Goldstein and AP, Katie Leonard
On Friday, January 23, over 35 educators and administrators from across the country came and spent the day at Breakthrough Magnet School to learn about our unique focus of character, as one of four schools selected by Teach for America as a School To Learn From in the area of school culture.
Elizabeth Horton Sheff came as a guest speaker during lunch to speak to the guests about the history of magnet schools in Hartford.
TFA Director of Alumni Affairs, Andrea Pursley, states, "34 people, including me, had the opportunity to “taste transformational change” today. And they’re going to go home and be able to test their own recipes and figure out how to move the needle further for the kids and families they have the privilege of working with."
