Betances STEM Student is 2019 White House “Easter Egg Roll” Artist

On Monday, April 22, 2019, President Donald Trump and the First Lady will host the 2019 White House Easter Egg Roll. The Easter Egg Roll dates back to 1878 under the Administration of President Rutherford B. Hayes.

On behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, CONGRATULATIONS to Betances STEM Magnet School for being selected to design and decorate an egg representing CT for the 2019 White House Easter Egg Roll. The artist is 8th grade student, Ivanna Ordonez. Her design incorporates CT state symbols that are layered using various colors to form an overall pattern. Ivanna’s design will be displayed as guests enter the event to illustrate the vast footprint of the Easter Egg Roll.
