Book Places Offer Free Books to Hartford Families

Published on Mar 31, 2016

The Village for Families & Children ( has partnered with Read to Grow ( to offer Book Places at two of its Hartford locations: 331 Wethersfield Avenue (across from Bulkeley High School) and 105 Spring Street (near the train station).

The Book Places offer free books to families to help build language and literacy skills. Kids are born learners, and parents are their children’s first teachers. Reading to children – even babies – strengthens parent-child relationships, builds language skills, and gets kids ready for success in school.

Parents and caregivers are welcome to stop by the Book Places anytime during The Village’s normal business hours of 9:00am-7:00pm Monday thru Thursday and 9:00am to 5:00pm Friday.
