Bulkeley High School National Honor Society and Key Club Volunteer to Cook at Peter's Retreat

In November, more than a dozen members of the Bulkeley High School National Honor Society and Key Club volunteered to cook brunch and dinner at Peter's Retreat, a congregate care shelter in Hartford's South End for those living with HIV/AIDS. The students were responsible for designing brunch and dinner menus, as well as for preparing all of the food – which included, among other things, eggs, sausage, pancakes, home fries, hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta, grilled chicken, flan, and cupcakes with homemade frosting.  Once done, students served the food to the residents, who not only enjoyed the cooking, but also the company of the students.

After preparing their meal, some of Bulkeley's NHS and Key Club students serve dinner to residents of Peter's Retreat.
