Capital Prep Students Earn CT State Monthly Award for FAFSA Completion
Each month, the Connecticut State Department of Education recognizes two schools for their month-to-month growth in FAFSA completion rates. On behalf of Commissioner Russell-Tucker, John Scianimanico, the Director of Special Projects for the Connecticut State Department of Education congratulates Capital Preparatory Magnet School for winning the February Monthly Award for FAFSA Completion!
Capital Preparatory magnet School will be recognized on CSDE’s website and on social media in the coming week for its impressive 29.7 percentage point growth in FAFSA completion over the last month.
As you know, FAFSA completion is a critical postsecondary priority in Connecticut, and we are very proud of schools like yours that are leading the state in supporting students achieve their college and career ambitions. We commend you and your team for your effort and encourage you to keep the momentum up into the next month!
In addition, all Capital Prep students in the class of 2022 have been accepted into 4 year colleges and have earned over $5 million in scholarship monies.
All 12th grade HPS Students and Families: register today for one-on-one, 30-minute FAFSA coaching workshops from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM on Thursday, 3/3, Tuesday, 3/8 and Thursday, 3/10 at Weaver High School or at Hartford Public High School for 12th grade HPS students and their families so they can complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form to apply for financial aid for college.
