Celebrating National School Counseling Week 2021

Celebrating National School Counseling Week 2021

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

This week, February 1-5, 2021 is National School Counseling Week (NSCW). On behalf of everyone at Hartford Public Schools, I would like to express our deepest appreciation for all that school counselors do to ensure the academic success and well-being of our students and families.

The theme of NSCW this year is “School Counselors: All in for All Students,” which captures exactly what our counselors have dedicated themselves to do for all our learners. Especially in this challenging and unpredictable year, school counselors contribute greatly to the supports that our students need to achieve academically and graduate ready for college. They work hard to help students pursue their academic goals, as well as specific career pathways.

In support of the whole child, our school counselors partner with our families and identify community resources that enhance their counseling programs. They also help cultivate a learning environment that is inclusive and helps students feel safe, valued, and respected.

Let’s take a moment to thank and celebrate our incredible school counselors. Their commitment ensures that all our beautiful and capable students are prepared for excellence in and beyond school.

In appreciation,

Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez
Superintendent
