Celebrating Our Amazing HPS Principals!

Dear Families, Colleagues, and Partners,

National School Principals Day 2021
Celebrating Our Amazing HPS Principals!

May 1 is National School Principals Day. On this special occasion and especially after this tough year, I would like to express my tremendous gratitude to each of our Principals. I am thankful for their leadership and deep commitment to our schools.

I have personally witnessed how our Principals have gone above and beyond for our students and families throughout this pandemic. Principals lead our teachers and school-based staff to fulfill our district’s mission to prepare all students academically for success in college, career, and life. Through a year like no other, they have remained focused on the priorities of our District Model for Excellence, supporting our educators to provide high-quality teaching and learning, build welcoming school cultures, and develop engaging partnerships with families and the community.

In support of our students learning and social-emotional well-being, our Principals made it possible for our schools to deliver in-person learning to students since the fall, and for many of our remote learners to return in-person in March. They have collaborated with administrators and staff to serve the whole child and evolving student needs. Their leadership ensures that students continue to have access to an equitable education in safe, nurturing environments.

Let’s take this moment to recognize and honor the inspiring work and contributions of our Principals, and thank them for all they do, every day, to serve our beautiful and capable students and families.

Sincerely,

Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez
Superintendent
