Celebrating Pride Month 2022

Dear Colleagues,

Hartford Public Schools believes in promoting equity and creating a welcoming culture and nurturing climate for everyone in our community. June is Pride Month and, I would like to express the district’s support for all our LGBTQIA+ students, families, staff, and partners. 

We know we have to continue to raise awareness about the challenges facing LGBTQIA+ individuals, including bullying, exclusion, and trauma. 

We affirm our commitment to creating safe learning environments for all members of our community.  Please see our resources here. We believe in diversity, equity, and inclusion so all our students and staff can realize their full potential and succeed. 

This month is also an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of LGBTQIA+ members of our community. Please join me in celebrating Pride Month and the strength and resilience of the many individuals in our community who have fought for change and full equality.
