Clarence Zachery, Chief Operating and Financial Officer
Clarence Zachery served as former Stamford Public Schools Chief Fiscal and Operations Support Officer (CFOSO). Mr. Zachery led the non-academic operations and fiscal management of the Stamford public school system with a $273 million operating budget and $29 million grant budget, 21 schools and 16,000 students. He supervised and managed all aspects of operations support including finance, facilities management, technology, food service, transportation and security.
Prior to Stamford, Mr. Zachery held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the Stratford public school system, leading the non-academic operations and management of a school district comprising of a $108 million budget, 13-schools and 7,500 students.
Prior to working for the Stratford BOE, Mr. Zachery worked as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Derby Public Schools. He also served as a Director of Finance and Administration for Yale University. Mr. Zachery had an earlier career in corporate finance with JPMorgan Chase. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University.
