Classical Magnet’s Mock Trial Team Advances to Quarter Final Round of Statewide Mock Trial Competition

Classical Magnet’s mock trial team won both its trials at Manchester Superior Court and has advanced to the quarter final round of the statewide mock trial competition. The mock trial competition is a statewide program run by the info@civicsfirst organization and supported by the Connecticut Bar Association. The Classical Magnet team is made up of 11 students who have been preparing their case in our enrichment program. The mock trial consists of students conducting a trial based upon witness affidavits. Students act as witnesses and lawyers, present testimony and exhibits, learn rules of evidence and objections, and present opening and closing statements. The case is presented in front of a panel of three judges who, traditionally, are members of the Connecticut Bar Association. This is the first time that the school has advanced to the quarter final.
