Congratulations to our CT Invention Convention Finalists!
On Saturday, April 28, 2018 students from across the state competed in the Connecticut Invention Convention finals at UCONN. Two Hartford Public Schools students have won at the state level and have been asked to compete at the national competition. In a few weeks, they, will go to Michigan to compete against inventors from across the country.
Annie Fisher STEM Magnet School 3rd grader, Kendall Scott won the Lincoln Financial Foundation’s Presidential Award, and will compete at the National Invention Convention. Her invention is called the Backseat Reminder, a distance (not motion) sensor that will set off an alarm when you leave the car – if something, or someone is left on the backseat.
Capital Preparatory Magnet School 5th grader, Marium Nazir, also won at the state level and has been invited to compete nationally. Marium loves science and being creative. She took an ordinary cane, added a cup holder, phone case and made other modifications to facilitate carrying items while using a cane.
