District Launches Annual School Climate and Connectedness Survey

Parents, staff members and students will have an opportunity this month to express how pleased they are with Hartford Public Schools when they respond to the 2015 School Climate and Connectedness Survey.

The goal of the annual survey is to measure the environment and approval of the school system in areas, such as high expectations, school safety, school leadership, student involvement, respectful climate, caring adults, parent and community involvement, student behavior and learning.

Survey results are confidential and intended to help guide the district in improving every aspect of educating its students.

School administrators began sending paper versions of the parent survey in English and Spanish home with students on Monday, March 9. Parents can also obtain copies of the survey in Nepalese, Arabic, Bosnian, Somali, Karen, Mandarin and Creole/French by calling or visiting their child’s school.

Staff members and students from third grade through 12th grade will be completing their versions of the survey online at designated times throughout the month of March and April.

Once the results are collected and analyzed, the results will be shared with principals.  In addition, results will be posted on the Hartford Public Schools website.
