Don’t Miss Free Screening of CNN Original Series, “The Redemption Project” and Panel about CT Criminal Justice Reform

#cut50 is a national initiative of the Dream Corps that works to reduce the prison population while making our communities safer. Their campaigns are led by people who have been directly impacted by the justice system and want to create change. #cut50 has lead successful days of advocacy and change with the National Day of Empathy to highlight the urgent reforms needed in the criminal justice system.

#cut50 National Organizer, Louis L. Reed will be traveling to over 10 states to learn about the urgent needs of those impacted by mass incarceration. At his first stop in Hartford, CT, he will be joined by Councilman TJ Clarke, State Representative Brandon McGee*, Darryl McGraw, and others on a panel to discuss the state’s next steps on criminal justice reform. This panel may be moderated by REFORM Alliance CEO, and CNN
political commentator special guest Van Jones*.

Along with the panel, Reed will also have a private screening of #cut50 co-founder, Van Jones’ newest CNN Original Series, The Redemption Project. The series exposes the process of reconciliation and restorative justice and highlights its potential to heal communities and brings forward the best in humanity. Jones’ series creates space for in-depth discussions between offenders and those directly impacted by their violent crimes as part of the restorative justice process.

The event will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM  at Milner Middle School at 150 Tower Avenue in Hartford, CT 06120.
