Dr. Dianna Roberge-Wentzell Named New Chief Academic Officer at the CT State Dept of Education.

Dr. Dianna Roberge-Wentzell Named New Chief Academic Officer at the CT State Dept of Education. 

The Connecticut State Department of Education, the State Board of Education confirmed Dr. Dianna Roberge-Wentzell as the new Chief Academic Officer at the CT State Dept of Education. 

Dianna will be at HPS through part of the spring 2013 when she will begin to make her transition to leading the Common Core curriculum development work at the state level.  Dr. Dianna Wentzell is currently serving the Hartford Public Schools as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools, PK-12.  Her areas of responsibility include supervision of principals, Special Education, School Design, and College and Career Readiness.  Dr. Wentzell previously served the Hartford Public Schools as Deputy Chief Academic Officer.  Before coming to Hartford, she served as the Director of Literacy, Assessment, and Instructional Improvement for the South Windsor Public Schools, and Curriculum Director for the CREC Magnet Schools.  Dr. Wentzell served as a consultant to school districts during her years at CREC, specializing in school improvement and district leadership.  Before pursuing leadership, Dr. Wentzell was a teacher and teacher-leader for over 15 years.

We are proud of the accomplishments of Dr. Roberge-Wentzell as part of the Cabinet and look forward to her leadership at the state level.
