Student Senate Officers Air Issues of Concern During Interview by Dr. Christina M. Kishimoto for Hartford Public Access Television
Last week Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Christina M Kishimoto had the pleasure of interviewing the Student Senate President, Tiffany Mitchell and Hartford's two Student Delegates to the Board of Education, Minny Lesperance and Joselyn Arroyo for the Conversations in Education television interview show at Hartford Public Access, Hartford Channel 5. The articulate, genuine and intelligent nature of the responses which the students offered in response to Dr. Kishimoto's questions positively foreshadow the powerful impact the students will have on Hartford Public Schools as they help teach the administration about the student-perspective and help guide the Board of Education into the future.

Timely concerns of the Senators include: school safety; improving mentorship programs offered to students; ensuring that lower classmen are being adequately prepared for college; and ensuring that higher expectations are placed upon all Hartford students to help elevate student self-esteem and performance.
