Driving Safety Reminder from our Security Department

Joe Sikora, Director of Security for HPS submitted the following article from Securitas:

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) reports there were 32,719 highway fatalities in 2013. The Office of Highway Safety (a component of the NTSB) states that there are approximately 7 million highway accidents every year. That's 19,000 a day! How can you avoid becoming one of these statistics? You can minimize your chances of being in an accident by knowing the causes and exhibiting the habits of a safe driver. Safe driving is not a reaction to hazards, but the recognition of potential hazards. That means seeing situations not only for what they are, but for what they could become. Good drivers constantly evaluate the driving environment and look for the unexpected. They remain in control of the situation.
