Welcome to the Office for English Language Learner Services. The Hartford Public Schools has a diverse student population representing over seventy different language groups. The 3,700 English language learners represent 18% of the district’s total population. The Office for English Language Learner Services provides services for English language learners with the goal of developing English language proficiency and achieving state content-area standards, while valuing their native languages and cultural backgrounds. In order to prepare every Hartford Public School English language learner to be college and career ready.
