Engineering & Green Technology Students Attend CBIA Luncheon for Networking and Internships

On Wednesday, May 28th, 40 students from the Academy of Engineering and Green Technology came to the Connecticut Business and Industry (CBIA) Conference Center to hear from business leaders as well as graduates of their school, about how to have a great internship this summer. CBIA president John Rathgeber spoke to the group and urged them to be curious, ask lots of questions, and to thank people who help them. Najib Habesch, Sr. VP of Beta Group, who hired one of last year’s interns as a full time employee, encouraged students to work very hard, take initiative, and always take the high road. Efrain Viera and Stephanie Fluker, both graduates of AoEGT and current college students, talked with the group about what they had learned in their internships and how that has helped them succeed in college. Before joining many of the workplace supervisors for lunch, the students listened to etiquette consultant Joan Hopper explain the fine points of a business lunch and table manners. Students  were joined by business people for lunch after which  everyone assembled for a group photo followed by cake.
