Classical Magnet School
At Classical, we strive to create an educational experience founded in the liberal arts, which concentrates on a student’s ability to read and think critically, write clearly, communicate effectively, and solve problems. These skills will carry a child through a changing world more seamlessly than training for any particular career, and can be used to explore any career interest later in life. We want students to receive a full high school experience by pursuing a wide range of activities on campus between 7:45 am and 4:00 pm. We know that these experiences will help them to enjoy and appreciate their adolescent years. We challenge students to center their focus on Classical and the opportunities we offer for most of their waking hours, and we ask them to take a deep breath and enjoy these important years of their lives.
Preparing children not only for school but for life requires that we give them authentic opportunities to interact with people who are different from themselves. With students from 42 towns and a student body that represents all of the region’s demographics, we have a unique opportunity to shape the emotional intelligence of our students, and instill in them an important sense of empathy for others.
Education that Extends Well Beyond the Classroom
Non scholae sed vitae discimus- We learn not for school but for life.
Classical Magnet School provides a learning environment focused on the whole child and offers a challenging college prep curriculum that is rooted in the classics and liberal arts which encompasses critical reading, writing and thinking and problem solving skills, along with development of interpersonal skills necessary for lifetime success. Our Paideia-based method of instruction prepares students for acceptance at prestigious universities, and teaches them to be active citizens in a global community.
There are so many options when it comes to your child’s education.
