Environmental Sciences Magnet School Greenhouse/Vivarium Scientist Publishines Blog about Trip to French Guiana

Published on Mar 3, 2016

Greetings – I had a fantastic trip. 8000 air miles. 40 walking miles. 1000 photos and videos. A slew of insects, for pinning. A couple of large moths.

I was delighted to see many blog comments from ESM. I've answered most, and I will stay on top of it. My Internet in the jungle was a bit dicey, but I got back Sat midnight, and have been adding to the blog since.
– I've written it as though for a journal. I've used a few too many big words, but either you or I can easily translate to whatever grade level.
– I've used a lot of images and short videos, and have more material I can add.
– Kids will ask me the obvious question, about white witch. I won't answer – I'll say "I think there is something about that on the blog" so that they can see for themselves that an adventure is not about just one objective.
– Perhaps the best way to engage students would be for me to narrate the blog? This would also give students a chance to see other student comments.

Let me know how I can make this useful to your class.
