Expeditionary Learning Academy at Moylan School (ELAMS) Welcome Friends from the Hebrew Home

On Friday, March 15th students in Mrs. Lisa Smith’s kindergarten class at the Expeditionary Learning Academy at Moylan School (ELAMS) welcomed their friends from the Hebrew Home, an adult day care program located in Hartford.  Each month the students look forward to their special guests as they work on craft projects and other fun tasks related to the EL Model.

The students and their visitors decorated small bird houses in preparation for the upcoming spring months.  Students helped their friends use markers and crayons to creatively decorate the houses.  They even shared ideas as to how to make them most colorful.

The Expeditionary Learning model believes in fostering relationships with members of the greater school community and the students in Mrs. Smith’s class have done just that.  The students consistently demonstrate their Compass for Learners and show their courtesy at all times and demonstrate craftsmanship and resilience in their work.
