Extended School Hours Grant Recipients 2016-2017

Extended School Hours Grant Recipients 2016-2017

Hartford Public Schools has awarded $378,086 to 11 organizations through the 2016-2017 Extended School Hours Grant Program. These funds will serve approximately 800 students in after-school programs at 15 of our schools. Extended School Hours Programs are funded by a grant from the Connecticut Department of Education and awarded by Hartford Public Schools through a Request for Proposals (RFP) process that began in September. A review committee of nine members representing various practitioners from the areas of education, youth development and community and business stakeholders evaluated the proposals and made award recommendations in accordance with criteria approved by the Commissioner of Education outlined in the RFP. The process was highly competitive, and decisions were based on district’s priorities, school needs, quality of applications and programs and alignment to all the criteria set forth in the RFP.  The Extended School Day program grant extends from November 28, 2016 through June 30, 2017
