Family Code Night (Grades K-5) on December 11th!
Hartford children grades K-5 and their parents or guardians are invited to “Family Code Night,” the delightful free event at which kids and their parents or guardians pair up to do their first hour of coding, together! It’s a fun self-paced introduction to computer programming — and no tech background or coding experience is required. Playing puzzles from Code.org, children and parents have a great time, and learn 6 “Big Ideas” in computer science, even in this very first hour of coding. All families will receive a free “Code@Home Family Pack,” full of free coding games to play and learn from later at home.
Family Code Night will be held at the Infosys Innovation Hub in Hartford, located at 225 Asylum St 11th Floor in Hartford. The event is free but seats are limited. Sign-up is required.
6:00 – 6:15 pm. Free pizza dinner!
6:15 – 7:30 pm. Instructor-led coding puzzles and fun.
Everyone will participate in two-person teams, ideally one child and one parent or guardian. If possible, please bring one device for every two participants–a laptop, Chromebook or tablet will all work fine. If you need a device, no problem, you can borrow one at the event.
Free parking is available on site.
