Food Resources for Those in Need

Food insecurity remains a top priority for families across our state.  There is a lot we all can do to spread the word about resources available in our communities. Supports can be accessed as follows:

FOODSHARE  is an organization which provides a coordinated response to hunger in Hartford and Tolland counties. They will distribute free food at Rentschler Field, 615 Silver Lane, East Hartford from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm from 4/27-5/8/20. This will be an organized a drive-thru model. In order to access a mobile FOODSHARE site, individuals can text FOODSHARE to 85511.

The Connecticut Food Bank Mobil Pantry operates in communities throughout Fairfield, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven and Windham counties. Pantry times vary by location and include morning, afternoon and evening times to accommodate as many schedules as possible. A listing of food pantries and emergency food assistance locations in your area can also be obtained by calling the United Way from any area in the state by dialing 211 or visiting their website at: https://www.211ct.org/
