Governor’s Prevention Partnership Youth Council Applications due June 14

Governor’s Prevention Partnership Youth Council Applications due June 14

In 2016, The Governor’s Prevention Partnership launched the new Youth Council.  The Youth Council is currently comprised of 8 high school students from Connecticut, selected through a competitive application process.  We are pleased to announce that we are expanding the Youth Council to 15 members, and once again accepting applications from students around the state.

Members of the Youth Council will receive training in leadership, advocacy and communication skills.  They will work together to plan and implement a substance abuse prevention campaign and have opportunities to participate in media interviews, legislative advocacy activities, and Partnership events.  This is a great opportunity for students with an interest in this area to work together to make a difference at a statewide level!

Additional information and application is attached in PDF, please contact Kristen Granatek for a fill-able Word form.  Applications are due by Wednesday, June 14.  We look forward to another exciting year with a great group of young people!  If you have any questions about the Youth Council or the application process, please feel free to contact  Kristen.Granatek@preventionworksct.org or 860.757.3531.
