Grades 5-12: A Free Workshop on Resilience 4/22

ActUp Theater is hosting a free workshop on Cultural Identity for our Hartford families with students in grades 5-12 on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 at 5:30 PM. All are welcome to ACTIVATE!

ACTIVATE is a series of virtual arts workshops created by ActUp Theater, Inc.. It was formed in response to the recent heightened awareness around social justice to help people, like you, to become change-makers in our community. Through ACTIVATE, we use the arts to have courageous conversations to move the culture forward.

The topic of the workshop will be Resilience. Discover the “Gladiator” in YOU! Resilience is essential for human thriving and is an ability necessary to develop healthy, adaptable young people. People who develop resilience are far better able to face disappointment, learn from failure, cope with loss, and adapt to change. Art is enduring and can help us navigate the complexity and speed of change, especially considering the influence of popular culture on one’s sense of self. This empowering workshop will explore challenges from homelessness, bullying, abandonment, and loneliness; and inspire participants to defeat the odds and bounce back! Please, join us!

Before we see each other, we want you to get curious, BRAINSTORM, and start thinking about how much you know about the topic.
Exactly, how woke are you? We have prepared this short private survey to help gather your view point. We will not share the responses publicly, so feel free to be honest, thoughtful, and speak your truth! If, you can please fill the short survey out by Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 at 5:30 PM. Students and parents, should be sure to log in a few minutes early, have something to take notes with, and bring their best self.

We are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 at 5:30 PM. Let’s ACTIVATE!
