Hartford Opportunity Youth Collaborative Supports Summer Bridge Programming for our Rising 9th Graders

Hartford Opportunity Youth Collaborative Supports Summer Bridge Programming for our Rising 9th Graders

The Hartford Opportunity Youth Collaborative (HYOC) is chaired by the Mayor of Hartford and made up of leaders in education, youth development, and workforce development committed to addressing the needs of Opportunity Youth. This collective impact effort will help these youth obtain their high school diplomas, continue their education, and find employment.

At the group’s April 16, 2019 Steering Committee meeting, they welcomed a presentation by Hartford Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez who presented important data about the current Chronic Absenteesim emergency in our schools.

The Capital Workforce Partners staff aided the group in requesting information from HYOC members who can support and/or provide programming for the 2019 Summer Bridge program at Hartford Public Schools.
