Hartford Public High School Law and Government Academy Student Honored with the Student Athlete Community Service Award

The Hartford Yard Goats honored Hartford Public High School Law and Government Academy student Shamar Richards with the Student Athlete Community Service Award at their Annual Hot Stove Luncheon. 
 
Shamar is a Senior High Honors Student, Captain of the Varsity Football Team, and member of the Varsity Swim team. He also participates in the Hartford Youth Public Safety Program, a program that encourages and trains students for careers in public safety careers. Shamar has worked the past two summers at the Hartford Police and Fire Departments as part of this program. He also serves as Teaching Assistant in our Modified Physical Education class, where he works with students who have multiple disabilities. 
 
Shamar is looking forward to attending college or prep school next year, where he can continue his academic and football career.
