Hartford Public High School Students Selected as Class L All-State Football Players

Please congratulate Ray Colon, (at right, in photo above) a senior linebacker from the HPHS Nursing Academy, and Lavarey Banton, (on left, in above photo) a junior running back from the HPHS Academy of Engineering and Green Technology, on their selection as Connecticut High School Coaches Association First Team All-State Football Players for Class L.

Ray, a team captain and a four-year varsity player, led the team in tackles this year with 112. Lavarey, the first junior from HPHS in 12 years to make the All-State team, led the team in rushing yards with 1374 and in touchdowns with 17.

Both Ray and Lavarey received the most votes in their individual positions from the CHSCA, and were first and second in overall Class L voting, respectively.

Congratulations to Ray and Lavarey!
