"The Bangkok World" Book Talk with Connecticut's own Denis Horgan

Denis Horgan, United States Army veteran, award-winning journalist & author, known to Connecticut readers for his 25 years at the Hartford Courant, comes to Hartford Public Library to discuss his newest book, "The Bangkok World."

Building and Sustaining Your Non-Profit

Presenter Martey Rhine, Management Solutions & Resources covers the basics of building a board, budgeting, operational planning, marketing, and fundraising – all the building blocks your nonprofit organization needs.  It will also provide you with the tools, templates, and references for taking the action steps to effectively structure your nonprofit organization and enhance your ability to achieve the mission. Linda Martin Quilts now on Display at Hartford History Center!

Date:  Meet The Artist! November 16, 2013 -12 Noon until 2:00 p.m.
Location: 3rd floor, Downtown Library

Stop in and meet local "fabric artist" Linda Martin and discuss all things quilting on November 16th.  Over 30 unique creations are on view and available for purchase on the 3rd floor. 

A portion of all sales will benefit Hartford Public Library.


Community Conversation About Mental Health

"Conversations After Sunset" with Reverend Henry C. Frascadore  

Date: Sunday, November 17, 2013, 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Center for Contemporary Culture, Downtown Library


Reverend Henry Frascadore, retired Catholic priest, scholar, artist, author and "believer in a life lived well" will speak at the Center for Contemporary Culture at Hartford Public Library. In a conversation with Hartford Public Library CEO Matt Poland, Father Frascadore will share his poetic and spiritual insights that have touched the lives of thousands.
