Hartford Public Library "On Wheels" Book Mobile Delights our Elementary School Students

Between June 2nd and June 12th, the HPL Book Mobile visited the Goodwin Branch Library's Zone Schools, Breakthrough Magnet School and Kennelly School.   The purpose of the visits was to inform schools of the purpose and resources the Book Mobile offers, inform teachers, parents and students of the HPL summer reading program and to provide library card registration forms to students that are currently non-card holders.  The events highlight one of many action steps the Goodwin Branch Collaboration Team has committed to since the kick-off event in February that celebrated the partnership between Hartford Public Schools and the Hartford Public Library.

Packets with information about library card registration, summer learning signup, and programs and activities at all branches were distributed to classroom teachers who visited with their students;  a choice of stickers promoting reading were given to all the kids.
