Hartford's Abuzz about Achieve Hartford!’s Community Spelling Bee!
Bee a champion and have your school compete in Achieve Hartford!’s annual Community Spelling Bee!
This year’s Community Spelling Bee, which promises to be bigger and better than ever, will be heldon Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Theater of The Performing Arts at the Learning Corridor, 359 Washington Street, Hartford. The event is free, a light dinner will be served and we are excited to announce that Javier Colon, 2011 winner of The Voice will be back as our emcee.
Here’s how it works. A school “team” consists of three students and one adult leader. Teams compete in rounds to spell increasingly difficult words. There are three opportunities for students to be recognized and win prizes: Be the top student spelling team, have the best costumes, or bring a cheering section to win best team spirit!
