Hartford's Abuzz about Achieve Hartford's Community Spelling Bee!

Have you heard the buzz?  Achieve Hartford!’s annual fundraiser, the Community Spelling Bee will take place on Friday, October 4th from 6:30-8:30pm at the Theater of the Performing Arts at 359 Washington Street in Hartford.
This year’s event will feature Connecticut native Javier Colón, singer-songwriter-musician and 2011 winner of The Voice.
The Community Spelling Bee provides a unique opportunity for the Hartford community to celebrate and support the need for high-quality public education for all Hartford students.
Teams of 3 middle and high school students compete in a friendly competition to spell increasingly difficult words. Top spelling teams are awarded iPads and Mega Education Fun Packs, in addition to other amazing prizes for best costumes and much more!
Teams are encouraged to wear unique team T-Shirts or costumes and bring the whole family to cheer on spellers.
Student teams are still welcome to sign up by visiting their school’s main office.
Registration is free for students and admission is free for all spectators.
But time is running out, so register your team, get the word list at www.achievehartford.org and come prepared to have a great time.
Teams from Hartford Public Schools this year include:
Capital Prep
High School Inc.
Noah Webster
