HARTFORD STUDENTS RECEIVE SUPPLIES FROM NEW COUNTRY MINI COOPER: DONATIONS DISTRIBUTED FROM NEW COUNTRY’S STUFF A MINI DRIVE IN AUGUST

 
Staples Team Leader Steve Delvecchio helps Rachel Callahan of Enfield load her donation into a MINI Cooper parked at the Staples store in East Hartford on Saturday, August 16th. New Country Motor Cars sponsored the Stuff a MINI to the Max school supply drive for children in need within the Hartford public school system. All of the supplies will be delivered to the Family Services of Hartford Public Schools’ Welcome Center on August 25th.
On Monday, August 25th, the manager of New Country MINI in Hartford delivered school supplies that were collected through the New Country Stuff a MINI to the Max campaign during the month of August. to the Hartford Public Schools.  Backpacks, pens, pencils, erasers, big wide ruled notebooks, college ruled notebooks and pencil/ruler/sharpener kits will be given to students just in time to start school on August 26th.  
 
The mission was to help ensure that Hartford teachers and students have the necessary materials to jump start a year of learning on the very first day of school and to ease the financial burden on city parents. Approximately 21,000 students were enrolled in Hartford Public Schools in 2013-14, of whom 84.6% were low-income. Based on the 2010 census figures, Hartford has more people living below the federal poverty rate (32%) than any other community in Connecticut.
