Honoring our Educators on World Teachers’ Day

Dear Families, Colleagues, Partners, and Friends,

World Teachers’ Day is a global celebration of teachers held annually on October 5. At Hartford Public Schools, we take this opportunity to recognize the role of all educators, including our teachers and paraeducators, and highlight all they do in support of our students.

The 2021 theme for World Teachers’ Day is Teachers at the heart of education recovery”. This theme resonates in our district because the focus for this year, and the next three years, is on providing the learning and support our students need for academic and social-emotional recovery.

Our teachers and paraeducators are fundamental to achieving this goal. Though the pandemic disrupted teaching and learning, our educators continue to ensure all students receive the high-quality instruction and enrichments they need to be successful. They have also generously provided care and support to each other, and to our students. These relationships are the inspiration for the hope and change we all need to meet our goals for all our learners.

Together, let’s applaud our teachers and paraeducators for their service, commitment, leadership, and heart in ensuring all our students receive access to the learning and support they need to succeed in school and in life. Please take a moment to reach out to and express your appreciation for a teacher today.

Thank you Teachers!
