HPHS Nursing Academy Students Create Inspirational Tree of Life Murals

HPHS Nursing Academy Students Create Inspirational Tree of Life Murals

Last year two 10thgraders created the background and tree based on Gustav Klimt’s “Tree of Life.”  Then seniors were asked to paint their hand print in a way that was meaningful to them.  The hand prints became the leaves of the tree.  The painting still exists on the 2nd floor of the Nursing Academy near the office.  Next to the painting is a scroll painting with a meaningful quote.

We have started the 2013-14 wall now.  The same two artists, now 11th graders, are creating the tree and background.  This year’s inspiration will be Keith Haring’s “Tree of Life” and the seniors will be using personalized Haring action figures for the leaves.

The students are very proud of their creation and this year’s seniors have been asking since September when their wall would be ready.
