HPHS & Pathways Academy Robotics Team Brings Home Prestigious Award

The Birds of Prey Robotics Team 181, the team– comprised of students and mentors from Hartford Public High School’s  Academy of Engineering & Green Technology, Pathways Academy of Technology and Design,  and Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy– earned the prestigious Engineering Inspiration award at the New England District event held at Western New England University March 22-24, 2019. This award is given for inspiring students to become engineers.
The Birds of Prey, Team 181 qualified for the New England FIRST championship, to be held April 10 – 13th at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA.
In addition to many other functions, their robot is required to successfully handle the discs, held in above photo by HPHS teacher Mr. Mangus (right) and team mentor Ms. Smith (left,) HPHS Alumna and college student.
Engineering Teacher David Mangus received a New England District Volunteer of the Year award at the Western New England District Event held March 22-24, 2019 at Western New England University.

Join the team as they host FIRST Robotics Destination: Deep Space Competition Game, Saturday, April 6 through Sunday, April 7 at Hartford Public High School’s Field House at 55 Forest Street in Hartford.  We recommend attending Sunday afternoon to cheer the teams on!
