HPS Special Education Department Hosts First Annual ABA Luncheon at Rawson School

On April 6, 2017, forty six students and their families participated in a fun filled and informative event at the First Annual ABA Luncheon at the Rawson STEAM School.  Students, their families and program staff enjoyed a scrumptious hot buffet after watching students perform safety skits on stage.

Proud parents have lunch with their son who finished acting in a play about the danger of hot things like gas grills.

All of the students participated in the skits and each class focused on a different safety theme.  These included; Bus Safety, Red Light -Green Light, Fire Safety and How to Cross the Street.   Special Education Teacher, Kristine Brewer, was instrumental in organizing the event, but all of the teachers and the paraprofessionals as well as Principal Tayarisha Stone and the Special Education Department collectively made the afternoon a success.

The packed auditorium of happy parents and students.

The parents and students had such a good time and learned so much that Ms. Stone is already thinking about next year’s Luncheon.
