CT Launches COVID Alert CT App – please consider downloading the App and encourage others to do the same!

  • To stop the spread of COVID-19, Connecticut needs everyone to do their part. One way you can help yourself and your community is by downloading the COVID Alert CT App. The more people who download or enable the app on their smart phone, the more effective COVID Alert CT will be. The COVID Alert CT app can be used on both Apple and Android devices.
  • The COVID Alert CT is a voluntary, anonymous, exposure-notification smartphone app. If the app sense that you have been in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19 you will receive an alert. Knowing about a potential exposure will allow you to self-quarantine immediately, get tested, and reduce the potential exposure risk to your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and others.

Did you know you can use CT SNAP benefits to order groceries online?

  • Available on Amazon and participating ShopRite and Walmart stores!
  • Since June, CT SNAP recipients can use their SNAP benefits to purchase groceries online from approved participating food retailers – Amazon, Walmart, and ShopRite.  If you receive CT SNAP benefits, you are now able to use your SNAP EBT card to purchase SNAP-eligible grocery items and choose curbside store pickup, or delivery for a fee. CNG Offers COVID Payment Plan and Assistance Programs to Help You

  • The 24-month COVID-19 payment plans has now been extended until February 9, 2021. If you are having difficulty paying your natural gas bill please call CNG at (860) 524-8361.

COVID-19 Payment Plans – Available to any customer requesting financial assistance, without demonstrating financial need;

    • Require no initial or down payment;
    • Can be up to 24 months in length;
    • No fees or interest in the calculation of the monthly payment amount;
    • Facilitate the repayment of the past due balances in addition to the customer’s current monthly bill.
    • Any customer enrolled in a COVID-19 Payment Plan who is current with their payment terms cannot be disconnected even after the Shut-off Moratoriums have concluded.
  • Financial Assistance Programs – Starting November 1st residential customers with a financial hardship can call (860) 524-8361 to see if they qualify for our arrearage forgiveness program.
    • Arrearage Forgiveness Program: Available to residential natural gas heating customers, who meet state income guidelines to qualify for the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program. Combined with public assistance benefits, monthly payments can be reduced to as low as $50. Customers who make payments for the duration of the program phase are protected from service disconnection, and we will match your payments, plus energy assistance received, to reduce the balance owed down to zero.
  • Medical Protection: Available to residential natural gas heating customers if they or a household family member have a serious or life-threatening medical condition. This program protects against service disconnection for up to one year. Customers are still responsible for any balance owed.
  • Energy Efficiency Programs and Rebates – CNG also offers a variety of programs to help you manage your energy costs.
    • Start with Energy Analyzer and get targeted energy efficiency information, advice and support to help you reduce your energy use and costs.
