Jesse Sugarman has over 14 years of professional experience in business development, campaign creation/consulting, marketing, communications, strategy, and analytics working on behalf of companies like Allstate, PepsiCo, the state of Texas Commerce Department, and MillerCoors. Throughout his marketing career, Jesse was successful at developing effective coalitions of diverse stakeholders and utilizing data analysis to inform strategy and maximize return on investment.
Most recently, Jesse served as the Director of Development and Communications at Hartford Promise, a college scholarship and support program that ensures college access for talented, deserving Hartford Public School students. While at Hartford Promise he was responsible for enhanced communications and social media strategy, development of data dashboards to measure scholar success, and the redesign of the organization’s website. Additionally, Jesse led several successful development campaigns including a graduation matching initiative and the organization’s submission in the North Hartford Promise Zone grant that secured federal funding from the Department of Education.
Throughout his career, Jesse has dedicated himself to advocacy, social justice, and causes that promote equity and opportunity in marginalized communities. As a member of the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood Illinois Action, Jesse led efforts to cultivate a diverse coalition of supporters through high profile events and strategic marketing initiatives. He is also a volunteer with the Connecticut Forum and serves on the Board of Electors at the Wadsworth Atheneum.
EDUCATION
Jesse earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from Lehigh University and a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
